The honorary nature of membership is based on our premise that it is an honor to be selected to serve the band, its department of music, its sponsoring institution, and the cause of band music in the nations colleges and universities.

Kappa Kappa Psi operates exclusively in the field of college and university bands. Chapters participate in a broad range of activities emphasizing service, brotherhood and leadership. Kappa Kappa Psi provides many exciting opportunities for the development of social and leadership skills in an atmosphere of brotherhood and mutual support.

The Fraternity leadership, through a process of ongoing strategic planning, has developed mission and vision statements. These more clearly define Kappa Kappa Psi Fraternity.

Mission Statement

Kappa Kappa Psi is a fraternal organization that promotes the advancement of college and university bands through dedicated service and support to bands; comprehensive education; leadership opportunities; and recognition; for the benefit of its members and society.

Vision Statement

With a dedicated spirit of unity and cooperation, we are unequivocally committed to become the world standard of excellence for band fraternal organizations.

The activities and service by our chapters across the nation is what makes Kappa Kappa Psi such a unique and special organization. The local chapter is the driving force behind the dedicated service we so proudly provide our band programs.

As John Philip Sousa so proclaimed to our membership in 1922, “You are the ones who will carry on the work started by the old masters, it is up to you, and your fraternity has the field almost exclusively, to promote music and make all who listen appreciate. “

Donation Information

• Support for National Programs of Kappa Kappa Psi (Scholarships, Leadership Education, etc.) can be supported by any of the following giving options:
• Cash Gifts tax deductible according to the donors tax bracket.
•Bequests in Wills bequests include gifts of cash, securities, or other marketable property designated in a will and are exempt from federal estate taxes.
• A specific bequest leaves certain property, or a percentage of the estate to the Kappa Kappa Psi Corporation.
• Life Insurance life insurance gifts made be made to the fraternity by naming the Kappa Kappa Psi Corporation as owner or as beneficiary.
•Appreciated Property an alternative to a cash gift is a donation of appreciated securities, such as stocks and bonds.
